We were seated really quickly, but we were puzzled about how to order. There is a small gift shop with stuff dedicated to Pom too! You can get cute pictures with Pompompurin statues, and there. I am a huge fan of Sanrio and everything adorable. I am so upset that I chose this place in all of Harajuku to eat dinner, instead of somewhere else. Just don't come here if you have a toddler - older children with a longer attention span will surely survive the ridiculously long wait a lot better. This restaurant may be fine if you're willing to pay top price for poor service and average food. Forget about ordering any desserts after you get your mains - it seems you only get one shot at ordering and the staff basically ignore you once you've been served your food. They obviously spend way too much time making the food look pretty but don't put any effort into the taste (which is probably to be expected). The food itself certainly looked kawaii (cute) but taste wise it was pretty average. By then, our toddler was almost in meltdown - she was hungry, tired and over it.
#Pompom purin kigu full
The restaurant wasn't full but the food took almost an hour to come out once we had actually ordered. We would have gotten up and left at that point but we were all hungry and had invested so much time just getting into the place that we stayed. They kept telling my husband to move his chair to the other side of the table but they couldn't explain why, and they were very rude about it. The service was slow and the wait staff were rude and unfriendly. Once we got inside, it took forever just to get menus and then have someone take our order. We waited around 40 mins to get a table, which is pretty normal when visiting popular places in Japan. We came here for lunch because we thought our daughter would love going to a character cafe. Don't be fooled by the kawaii cutesy Sanrio characters and the line at the door, you will regret coming here (especially if you have. Of all the places we ate at during our trip to Japan, this was hands down the worst of them all. We were very disappointed with the desserts and cannot recommend them.Īltogether we ended up spending about 3 hours there, and most of that was thanks to the service being incredibly slow.Īppearances are cute, but it's not really recommendable. Cheesecake cream apparently just is salty cream. At first I thought they actually must have mistaken salt for sugar, but after checking back the cream was supposed to be cheesecake cream. The pudding was okay (as long as you don't apply the sauce that comes with it), but the pancakes tasted very bland and they had salty cream on them. After some more time, we got our desserts. She seemed very surprised and stressed at that and hurried into the kitchen. Again I finally managed to get a hold of the waitress and told her we were waiting for our desserts. Then when it arrived it looked very cute, and the mains were tasty.Īfter we finished eating it seemed like an eternity had passed and we still weren't served any desserts. The food did take very, very long to come, as we were told in advance. We ordered mains as well as dessert and asked for the dessert to be brought out after the mains. at the menus it took quite a while until I finally got the waitress to see us and take our orders. The waitress was polite, but even though they had more than enough staff for the amount of people the service seemed overall very slow.Īfter we looked.
